How do you define love?
Choose one aspect of this verse as a description of Your Loving Father. Repeat it to yourself multiple times. Pray it back to the Father. For example:
Lord I know that you are not irritable or resentful. I am so glad that you are not quick to get angry with me. I know that you do not hold grudges, even when I rebel against you. Your goal is to draw me back into a loving walk with you. If you resented me, if you held a grudge, I would be forever lost.
Look for examples of where God shows His love to the world, and specifically to you. Thank Him through the day, as you become aware of His gentleness, kindness, forgiveness.
Ask the Father to grow that love in your heart. God is love. You are made in the image of God. Your perfect self will be a loving reflection of Him.
